Some situations require unique training and experience, such as adoption and surrogacy. As a certified Stillbirthday Doula I have completed the additional training for Adoption Doula. You can find my listing and valuable resources at adoptiondoulas. There are special decisions to make such as when and how the adoptive/intended parents will be involved in the birth, how to transition from birthing mother to family, and what postpartum recovery might look like. Knowing and understanding what both parties are experiencing allows me to help bridge these two sides. The birthing person may experience feelings of loss and grief that may catch them off-guard if they aren’t prepared. Due to the variety of circumstances it is best to discuss your support needs during a complimentary consultation before a rate can be determined. The birthing person may desire more or less than my typical full-service package and that will affect the total cost of services. Together we’ll chat about the desired plans and come up with a package that fits your needs. I can cater things such as the pictures, birth timeline, and other keepsakes to provide for both families if desired. Please know that your dignity, your privacy, and your family will be treated with complete respect and compassionate care. The clients I have worked with for adoption and surrogacy will always have a special place in my heart. Building families…I doula that!
