Fear is just power waiting for information.
Educating yourselves about pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, and newborn care is the one of the best things you can do to have a positive experience. I thought after having five babies I must know pretty much anything worth knowing about childbirth and after. I can’t believe how wrong I was. Every time I take another training it blows me away how much more there is to learn about birth and beyond that isn’t standard knowledge and how significantly this information can change what you experience. The topics I present help you navigate your preferences, they are evidence-based, not fear-based. I have no bias toward certain choices and do not try to steer you toward what I would choose for my own births and parenting.

My classes are geared to be fun, engaging, visually exciting, and highly beneficial. I teach with three goals in mind: I want my students to know what they need to know, why they need to know it, and how to use the information to their benefit. And I want them to love the class so much that they don’t hesitate to tell their friends how valuable it was! I especially love the excitement I see when dads/partners learn all of the ways they can support these birthing warriors through this time; they finally know how to help and can get off the chair and off the phone and become the rock and support they knew they could be!

In “Body & Baby-Before Birth” you will learn about basic pelvic anatomy and labor progress, optimal fetal position and how it can affect labor, and a variety of tools that you can use during pregnancy and labor such as a Rebozo, a birth/peanut ball, breathing and massage techniques, the benefits of hypnosis, and different positions for labor and for pushing, and so much more! Every couple receives a “Preparing for Birth” workbook as well.

In “Body & Baby-Beyond Birth” you will learn how to take care of yourself postpartum for the best physical and emotional recovery. You will learn what newborn procedures will be offered and what a newborn’s appearance is like, newborn care, sleep, feeding-including feeding cues and troubleshooting, tummy time, bathing, soothing, diapering, how to help your family adjust to the new baby, and so much more! Every couple receives a “Following the Birth” workbook.
