Mindy Doula loves everything about birth work but is especially excited to support families during labor. She is a mom of three and lives in southern Salt Lake. She loves riding horses, camping, hiking, mountain biking, and visiting local wineries. She studied marriage and family relationships at the University of Utah and plans to finish her masters in social work after her kids are grown.
Mindy was drawn to birth work when her friend talked about how hard it was to feel like no one was listening to her during labor. She said she really wished she had someone there to help her stand up for herself and remind her how to use the things she learned in her childbirth education classes. Mindy let her friend know that this is what a doula does and her friend said “You should be a doula Mindy!” It just felt right as soon as she heard and that’s when she decided to add labor doula work to her skillset and start supporting birthing families.
Mindy believes every laboring woman deserves to feel supported and validated through labor and wants to make sure all options and techniques are made available. With Mindy’s background in family relationships she believes she really improve the way a family comes together postpartum to help the mom recover and the parentship thrive.
